German delegation, Ministers of Karnataka visit Art of Living Center

The Minister-President of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, (Germany) Mr. Gunther H Oettinger visited the Art of Living International Center, Bangalore today, with the government delegation comprising the Ministers of the State for Finance, Economics and other parliament members for a meeting with His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Honorable Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Karnataka, Mr. Murugesh Rudrappa Nirani and President of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Crasta.

Honorable Minister-President of Baden-Wuerttemberg praised the culture of India and Sri Sri’s efforts to resolve conflict and bring peace at various for a said, “I am here to acknowledge the culture of this country and to establish good relations between the two countries. I am from a Christian country and have a vision to unite all religions and culture across the globe. We would also like to expand the trade between the two countries.” He also mentioned the Culture in Balance Award received by Sri Sri at Dresden, Germany in October 2009.

Honorable Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Karnataka, Mr. Murugesh Rudrappa Nirani mentioned, “The Karnataka government will organise the Global Investors meet in Karnataka in the first week of June 2010. Karnataka is developing two and three tier cities for investment. In addition to IT & Nano technology, there is potential in steel, cement, pharma and textiles trade in the two and three tier cities,” he added.

Sri Sri while addressing the delegation said, “India always stands for fostering the vision of a One World Family. Human values have to be an integral part of all facets of life; be it business, politics or society as a whole.” “The economic meltdown is the result of greed,” he said, adding, “Ethical and moral values are the backbone of business and business is the way to sustain the world. ” He concluded by saying, “A disease-free body , stress-free mind and a happy society is the birth right of every individual. Let us all work together to create a happy society.”

The delegation was welcomed in a traditional way and there were classical dance performances to showcase the best of Karnataka in the evening.
