Jalna, Maharashtra, India: Spiritual Guru of Art of Living, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, said the root cause of naxalism and terrorism is the absence of spiritual teaching.
Sri Sri was addressing a press conference at Jalna on Tuesday. Sri Sri had visited the town to address farmers rally. He said that terrorism can be combated through stringent laws, without political interferences in security agencies and promotion of national integration in the country.
He said that he has appalled to see the changing statements Ajmal Kasab, a lone terrorists in Mumbai terror attack on TV. He stressed on need to strengthen the legal system in the country. He stated that people different communities should live with communal harmony.
He also emphasized that the root cause of distress of farmers was because they were deviating from organic farming methods.
Farmers are committing suicide in Vidarbha and other parts of the country. He lamented that government packages were not reaching the farmers of Vidarbha.
He expressed shock that the government had given permission to production of wine from wheat and rice.
Earlier Sri Sri addressed the farmer’s the meet. He said that there was biological warfare. Multinational companies were spreading diseases like swine flu and made vacancies to prevent this. He urged farmers to go back to their roots and not adopt fertilizers and genetically modified seeds.
He said, “We have poisoned our soil and land and the poison has now spread to our lives.” He gave a slogan to save land, save seed and save the daughter. He also spoke on female foeticide and appealed that it should be stopped.
